If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. Kindred is not an emergency service and nobody is monitoring it around the clock.

Reporting someone

Every profile and every chat has a report option. Open the conversation or the profile, tap the menu in the top right, and choose Report. You will be asked for a reason, including options specific to this app such as "not actually a couple", "pushed for something non-platonic" and "did not turn up".

Reports are reviewed and acted on within 24 hours. The person you report is never told that you reported them.

You can also block anyone from the same menu, which removes them from your view immediately and permanently.

Deleting your account

Open Settings, scroll to the bottom, and choose Delete forever. You will need your password. This erases your account, profile, photos, messages, matches and meetup history from the server immediately. There is no undo.

If you cannot get into your account to delete it, email support@kindredapp.ca from the address you signed up with and it will be done for you.

Common questions

I forgot my password

Use "Forgot password" on the sign-in screen. A reset code is emailed to the address on your account. If it does not arrive, check your spam folder before assuming it failed.

Nobody is showing up in Discover

Three things usually explain it. Your filters may be too narrow, so open Discover and tap the filters icon in the top right to widen your age range or distance. Your profile may not be finished, since an incomplete profile is not shown to anyone and cannot see anyone. Or, if you are on a couple account, your partner may not have confirmed yet.

My partner has not confirmed our couple account

Both people need their own account. The first partner sends an invite from the app, the second signs up with their own email address and date of birth, and then shows a code that the first scans in person. Until that is done, the couple is not shown to anybody. This is deliberate: it is what stops one person running a couple account alone.

Why can I not see anyone's photo?

That is the product, not a bug. Names and photos unlock on day 3 of a match, for both people at the same time.

I was suspended

You will see the reason when you try to sign in. If you think it was a mistake, reply to support@kindredapp.ca. Suspension does not delete anything, so it can be reversed.
